Five Steps To Setup Rome

ROME is a web based team collaboration tool for scanlators and fansubbers.
You can assign tasks to group members, keep track of member activities and boost your communication and task efficiency. This tutorial introduces the main features of ROME and let you configurate your own project in just 5 steps.

01. Register A Project here

  • Your project will be created in 24h!

02. Load Project Modules

For more information read Project

  • The default setting for new projects is "private", which means that only your own team members can see your project. You can set Project Settings -> Public if you want your project to appear at the frontpage and be seen by everyone.
  • If unchecked, only the project members have access to it, according to their role.

03. Add Project Members

For more information read Roles

  • Go to your Project Settings -> Members

04. Create A Project Version

For more information read Version

  • Go to your Project Settings -> Version
  • Example: "Manga Volume 14" or "Anime Season 2"
  • Two new features will be activated after version creation:
  • File upload
  • Road Map

05. Assign New Tasks

For more information read Issue

You can assign issues (tasks) to members and let them inform you about their progress.

  • Has your editor cleaned chapter 678 of Naruto?
  • What is the status of the GantZ translation?
  • Where is your typesetter if you need him the most?

Keep track of all member activities by using ROME's Issue Tracking System . You can seperate tasks by creating issue categories.
For example you can create categories for "Editing", "Translation" and "Typesetting".

Create a Project Wiki (optional)

For more information read Wiki

Each project can have its own wiki. To activate it, go to project settings and set a name for the main wiki page and save it.
To create additional wiki pages, point the browser to the url http://rome.jcafe24.com/wiki/*yourproject*/name_of_new_wiki_page

Create Project Forum (optional)
